Bring your kids for Family Day at TechBash

Collaborate on Your LEGO Vision - Thomas Haver

LEGO sets are amazingly fun to build, but who has attempted to build a complete set without looking at the instructions? In this session, the kidz & adults will form teams and try to build one of sixteen different Creator sets without the instructions. Only one person from each team will be able to see the finished picture before the team starts building. That person must share their vision with the team, who will attempt to build the LEGO set as close to the instructions as possible without peeking. The groups will learn different ways to collaborate during the session to build the most accurate Creator LEGO set.

Fighting Robots: Hands-on STEM Principles - Zac O'Donnell

Have you seen fighting robots on TV and wondered what it would be like to actually get your hands on one? Ever wondered how complicated the wiring is, what kind of programming is involved, or why some of them look so strange? We'll get our hands on some materials commonly used in fighting robots and talk about some of the science and engineering concepts around what makes things strong and lightweight. We'll also see and handle real fighting robot parts like motors, speed controllers, powertrain components, and more. A real, battle tested fighting robot or two will be there as well. Don't worry - while some of the parts may be a little rusty we won't be doing anything dangerous!

Reptile Show

It's back! Join PT Reptiles for a LIVE reptile show! Pete will bring a wide assortment of reptiles, and some arachnids, too!

Raindrops Journey & Other Activities - Joe Kuemerle

Join us for a fun water cycle activity and games that will get you up and moving. All ages.

Let's Play a Game! Computer Hacking and Capture the Flag - Joe Kuemerle

Have you ever wanted to know how computer hackers are able to get into systems and find out things that they are not supposed to know? If you think you have what it takes to go head to head against other teams to see who can use their computer skills to attack a system then this is the session for you. Step up to the challenge of breaking into a system to steal passwords, get administrative access and get yourself some free (virtual) goodies. You will be racing against the clock and against the others to see who can get the farthest in solving computer security challenges as you work to own a system. Ages 13(ish) & up, black hoodies not required.
